Mae And Brett Make Love To One Another Live on Stage, Monday, February 13, 2023

Non-binary Canadian comedian, actor, and screenwriter Mae Martin and Ted Lasso’s nest friend (or nemesis) Brett Goldstein – an improvisational giant in the UK – join forces for what promises to be an impromptu battle of the network stars in stand-up and sketch.

Brad Garrett, Tuesday, February 14, 2023

There is an old joke that goes “Lou Gehrig got Lou Gehrig’s Disease – what are the chances?” that reminds me of too-tall, punchline happy comedian and comic actor Brad Garrett showing up to joke and host at the club of his own name. It doesn’t happen often, but Everybody Loves Raymond’s brotherly foil appears at his Las Vegas club’s main room with what seems like his favorite opening act, Landry. Bet on Brad. And it’s Valentine’s Day – which is just cute.

Really Funny Comedians (Who Happen to Be Women), Tuesday, February 14, 2023

I really can’t (and shouldn’t) predict what Brad Garrett’s comedy will be in Vegas for Valentine’s Day, but… and I’m guessing… surely a hint of misogyny could be on the menu, some ‘take my wife, please’ schtick. With that, it is refreshing and necessary that stalwart female comedians get their say. At San Fran’s Cobbs, Carmen Morales, Natasha Muse and Shannon Murphy with host Brooke Heinichen do their thing, and hopefully take men to task for their patriarchal actions. Or they’ll just be funny without worrying about gender constructs.

Eman El Husseini and friends, Wednesday, February 15, 2023

eman el husseini

I’m always happy to see and hear stand-up comedians and Jewish-Palestinian gay married couple Jess Saloman and Eman El-Husseini acting as one entity, and performing their co-joined jokes about Islamophobia, homophobia and the joys of moving to America from Montreal. All good and all great. This time out, however, Eman El-Husseini – a veteran of two comedy albums, Unveiled and Handsome Daughter – will show off her own proud voice, and frankly, I can’t wait. Joining her on stage at the East Village version of the New York Comedy Club is Charles McBee, Gus Constantellis and Carmen Lagala, so it is a long night of great comedy.

Scott Seiss, Thursday, February 16, 2023

Baltimore’s Scott Seiss has a great 70s’ John Oates porn stache, a pleasant smile and a billion social media views for his wildly energetic Angry Retail Guy sketches and his sharp observational comedy skills. Plus, “he does a lot of yelling about how men should sit down to pee.” That’s his words.

Joe List, Friday, February 17, 2023

Get ready for List-o-Mania as Boston’s still-snarky-after-all-these years stand-up comedian brings his dry wit and absurd cluttered mind thought process – to say nothing of his tall-tale-telling weekly podcasting voice for ‘Tuesdays with Stories’ – to Louisiana.

Bobby Collins, Saturday, February 18, 2023

bobby collins

What’s nice about stand-up comedian and author Bobby Collins is that he’s got a smart way with warmly observational humor and a manner that’s never going anywhere too blue. Like Jerry Seinfeld without the eye-rolling, Collins makes your part of the joke, and is wise without looking down on his audience (if his books such as ON THE INSIDE: Witisms and Wisdomisms and ON THE OUTSIDE This, That & Everything in Between translate from the page to the stage). Plus, I’d take my kids to see Bobby Collins. If I had any.

Michael Colyar, Sunday, February 19, 2023

Since the 1980s, famously down-to-earth and warmly humorous stand-up comedian Michael Colyar has been known for his working the beach – Venice Beach, California – for five shows a day. Doing comedy on the beach sounds amazing. Getting one’s toes out the sand might be tough, but Colyar is also comfortable on dry land with acting creds on Martin, Black-ish and House Party III.
