No matter whether you are a believer or not in a Heaven above, God will have His day – especially this week, as several different religious movements get their moment in the holiday sun.

While Pesach 2023 (the Jewish Passover) begins before sundown on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, and ends after nightfall on April 13, 2023, the long Easter weekend for Roman Catholics begins on Thursday April 6 and closes out on Easter Monday, April 10.

Here is a mash up of some of the best, most bountiful secular events in the Philadelphia, suburban and shore point New Jersey areas happening for Jews and Catholics within the next 10 days. And make sure you go to church and to synagogue, heathens.

90th Annual Easter Promenade off and on South Street

There’s no telling if Easter Philly’s traditional host-with-the-most, Henri David is part of this season’s proceedings as of yet. What is definitive is that moms, dads, grandparents and children alike will head to the South Street Headhouse District for the free, family-friendly celebratory walk with the Big Bunny and for Easter’s costume contests. Everyone gets pretty competitive when it comes to Easter Promenade dress up contests – and it is South Street – so, you know, bring the body armor.

Events at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History

“How Saba Kept Singing, a film about Holocaust survivor David “Saba” Wisnia and his time at Auschwitz – an award-winning film famously executive produced by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton = makes its Philadelphia premiere on the last night of Passover. The documentary film screening, focusing on family and faith, features a post-show Q and A with David’s grandson Avi, who is featured in the documentary, and Sara Taksler, the film’s director.

1st Annual Easter Bunny Brunch Buffet with Easter Bunny Photos and Egg Hunt at Brewerytown Food Hall

Glu Hospitality’s new restaurant celebrates Easter Sunday with its first ever Easter Bunny Brunch on April 9th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Sure, you can chow down on singularly made omelettes and egg dishes, bagels and lox,  or hang at the create your own waffle station and toppings bar and turkey and ham carving stations. J.Proud and the Germantown Jewish Centre hold their yearly LGBTQ Passover seder meal, outdoors and inside the Centre, with lively discussions about trans identity, queerness and activist issues a delicious desert to the holy dinner.

Harry’s Bar & Grille in Cape May’s live music and Easter Bunny stuff

The Saturday and Sunday of Easter Weekend is a big deal for Harry’s B & G by the sea. On Saturday, April 8, there is an Easter Egg Hunt for the children (and weird adults) at 3:00 pm, Easter Bunny photos with the kids (and pets too – yes) will also be part of Easter’s Saturday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with live music by John King from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
