A local company has stepped up to alleviate the increase in anxiety and stress due to COVID-19. Philadelphia’s own Allay Box started a CBD Gummy Giveaway for people looking to take the edge off while indoors.
Maurice Grimes, a Lower Merion and Drexel University graduate, started Allay Box with the mission to help people live safer and healthier lives. “Our only focus is helping people”, says Grimes, founder and CEO of Allay Box, and a Point Breeze resident. “With the chaos unfolding right now, we’re more concerned than ever about people’s physical and mental well-being. We are stepping up in the little ways we can.”
Launched in 2019, Grimes has created an online CBD shopping experience by pairing a bi-monthly subscription of CBD samples with educational content. The site offers an efficient and curated way to discover and shop for premium CBD products.
“Currently, CBD brands have a responsibility to provide transparency and abide by standards with their products. We devote our time to identifying those that set and raise the bar. We do the vetting work on products so you can enjoy them at the lowest cost possible.”
Allay Box’s most recent Spring “Flower Power” box includes a CBD tincture, edible gummy bears, transdermal CBD patch, transdermal muscle recovery creme, and CBD teas. The box sells for $65, a retail value of $129.99. Individual products are also sold separately.
“People don’t have a lot of time for self-care. There was a need and opportunity to put a spotlight on a natural solution to help people feel better,” says Grimes.
Allay Box made it easier to experience its services and products. Readers of Philadelphia Weekly receive 20% off any product or multi-box subscription on Allay Box’s site when using code “PhillyWeekly.”
Maurice and his team would also like to send a special thanks to all of the individuals on the front lines. “They are inspiring us every day to do everything we can to help others.”
