The Scene: TurnUp to BailOut 2

The world is a strange, scary place – and not just because we’re still fending off the final reverberations of Halloween.

No, if it seems there’s more hate than ever, it’s not just you or your perception. There’s anger, jealousy and fear lurking just around every corner.

Luckily for the rest of us, Circle of Hope Church is working to change at least some small part of that.

TurnUp to BailOut is Circle of Hope’s attempt to bridge the divide between country and culture, to remain committed to the community and ensure that black families, especially during an important time like the holidays, remain whole.

Featuring music from Kingsley Ibeneche, Lauren Scott, Reef the Lost Cauze, Brandon Evan Moulden, Devon Davis and Bethlehem Roberson, all proceeds from this party-with-a-purpose go toward the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund’s campaign to bail out black mothers and fathers incarcerated during the holiday season.

So if you’re gonna get turnt this Saturday, maybe do it in the name of a good and just cause.

Nov. 10. Free. Circle of Hope Church, 1125 S. Broad St. turnuptobailout.com
