The SPACE Art Gallery welcomes Photographer A. Clifford Hotchkiss’ intimate photographic exposé on the facets of mental illness. – Supporting NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Philadelphia.
The SPACE Art Gallery, 749 S. 8th Street, Phila PA, presents “Our Hidden Faces” by A. Clifford Hotchkiss, March 1st – 31st 2020. The exhibition seeks to educate us about the personal impact of having to put on a public face to hide your feelings by showing multiple exposures on a single piece of film.
Hotchkiss’ darkroom process of hand-developing film and creating toned Silver Gelatin Prints reflects the contrast of emotions at a single moment in time of this crippling illness.
The SPACE is donating 15% of all sales during the month of March to NAMI – Philadelphia supporting their mission as the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, especially those with serious mental illness.
