Courtenay Harris Bond

Courtenay Harris Bond is a Philadelphia-area freelance journalist, who covers behavioral health, social justice, the opioid epidemic, among other topics. She was a 2018 Rosalynn Carter Fellow for Mental Health Journalism. In an effort to learn about the efficacy of medication-assisted treatment in the real world, Courtenay spent a year in Kensington, following several users who were on MAT. She also co-produced a series of documentary shorts on the opioid crisis in Kensington, entitled “Embedded in the Badlands.” When she’s not writing about drugs or dealing with her three kids, dog and a husband, Courtenay is usually watching foreign crime serials on Netflix or shopping for plants.
