Born and raised in Slower Lower Delaware, Josh Hitchens has called Philadelphia home since 2003 and has worked at many museums and historic sites throughout the city both as a tour guide and in visitor services. He is also a theater director, actor, playwright, and teacher who was once referred to as “Philadelphia’s foremost purveyor of the macabre” by local press. Josh’s first book, Haunted History of Delaware, was published in July 2021 by The History Press and his second book, Haunted History of Philadelphia, will be published in time for Halloween 2022. He is also the creator of the podcasts Going Dark Theatre – which examines the humanity behind the horror in true tales of ghost stories, unsolved mysteries, and weird history – as well as Hitchens on Horror, in which he acts as a host for a some of your favorite scary movies.
